Florence Relief

  -

With hurricane Florence aftermath, we realize how blessed we are that we didn’t get affected by it, but we also remember when we were in that situation after Matthew, two years ago.

We know all too well what it feels like to have a disaster strike and completely destroy everything you have worked so hard to build. However, to lose your home and especially to not have insurance makes the situation seem even more hopeless. People in our state are hurting and as the church we know we must rise up to the challenge and be there for our brothers and sisters and for anyone in desperate need. We want to be a part of the short term and long term solutions.

This time we want to bless others and try to be a part of helping people that have been affected by this hurricane. The best way we can serve those in need is sending gift cards to help homeowners rebuild and get back on their feet.

  • Bring gift cards to Walmart, Lowe’s, Home Depot or various Grocery Stores (Food Lion, Lowe’s Foods, Harris Teeter, and Dollar General) to church this Sunday, Sept 23rd. It can be in any denomination, but anything will help and be a blessing to others.

There will be a table in the lobby where you can drop your gift cards during both services and we will make sure to deliver them to those in need. Please mark the amount on the card, you can also leave the receipt attached if you would like. Even a little can go a long ways in these trying times so let’s give the best we can and bless those who need it right now.

Volunteer Opportunities

We know some of you will be available this weekend and would like to get involved and lend a helping hand. The following churches are some we have reviewed who are actively engaged in serving their communities. The work begins as Rescue, moves to Relief and ends in Recovery. Most are in the Relief phase now and that means serving meals and helping clean up. Feel free to contact any of these to lend a hand.
